New federal requirements under ADA Title II will take effect on April 24, establishing WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the standard for online accessibility in public schools. Schools must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards or risk significant penalties.
For district leaders and online learning teams, this raises important questions:
Do our courses and instructional materials meet these requirements?
Can we demonstrate consistent, documented practices in an audit?
What steps should we take now to reduce risk and better support all learners?
At InnevAto EDU, these aren’t new expectations. They’ve always been part of our design. Our courses are already aligned to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and our work is grounded in Quality Matters standards.
In addition, Fairfield County ESC is the QM Coordinator for Ohio, providing expertise to support districts as they evaluate and strengthen their online learning.
As accessibility expectations continue to evolve, districts don’t have to navigate this alone. We’re here to help you move forward with confidence.
